Hassan 'Grateful' Right-to-Work Bill Killed

The Exeter resident is running for governor.

Gubernatorial candidate Maggie Hassan, an Exeter resident, released a statement commending lawmakers for their vote today that killed a right-to-work bill.

“I am grateful to the courageous members of the House who today stood up for the working men, women, and families of the Granite State," Hassan, a former state senator, said in a statement. "The right of workers to bargain collectively is one that I strongly support and as governor will always fight to protect."

Meanwhile, House Speaker Bill O'Brien, who led an effort to override Gov. John Lynch's veto of the right-to-work legislation, promised to pursue it again and predicted it will be a top issue in the governor's race.
