Hospitals 'Turned Blind Eye' on Kwiatkowski

A Boston Globe report details the arrest Dave Kwiatkowski for allegedly infecting Exeter Hospital patients with hepatitis C.

A Boston Globe report published Sunday details the events leading to the arrest of Dave Kwiatkowksi, the Exeter Hospital worker charged with infecting 32 patients there with hepatitis C.

Kwiatkowski is currently sitting in jail on fraud and tampering charges. He faces at least 24 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Kwiatkowski spread his hepatitis C to patients by injecting himself with their medication to get high.

The Globe report says "hospitals ignored the long-term danger posed (Kwiatkowski) ... allowing him to move from state to state, endangering the lives of patients as he adopted more elaborate methods of stealing drugs."
