Italian Ice Cart Plan for Downtown Advances

A local business wants to start one.

Sully's Ice Cream on Monday night moved a step closer to setting up an Italian ice cart downtown.

Selectmen approved a permit for the shop to set up its cart near the Swasey Parkway pavillion. The cart would operate from 12 to 7 p.m. from May to September.

The cart setup still needs to be approved by the Swasey Parkway trustees.

Sully's currently operates its ice cream shop on Lincoln Street just outside the downtown area.

The only other food cart vendor in town is Ian's Granite State Grille, a popular hot dog stand that has vegetarian options. The cart is also in Swasey Parkway.
