Another Union Nod for Hassan

She's the only gubernatorial candidate to get union nods.

Exeter resident and Democratic governor candidate Maggie Hassan today earned her second union endorsement in the form of New Hampshire Iron Workers Local 7.

Hassan is the only Democratic or Republican candidate to get union endorsements so far. The iron workers group has "hundreds" of members.

"We envision a New Hampshire that holds its citizens’ standard of living as priority one," said Shawn Cleary, business agent for the iron workers union. "In that New Hampshire, concepts like retiring with dignity, having access to quality, affordable health care and career path jobs, created through apprentice training programs will be integral components of our journey towards keeping the promise that all Americans once heard.

"We feel confident that (Maggie Hassan) share(s) our vision of restoring that dream."

Hassan recently won the of a state carpenters' union, which represents about 3,000 workers.
