UPDATE, 7:30 p.m.

Voters are flocking to the polls in record numbers. About 2,100 Exeter residents have cast a ballot so far. The total is on track to exceed 2,200 when the polls close at 8 p.m. That would exceed last year's numbers.

Check back here for results as soon as they come in. Exeter election workers typically have results 10-15 minutes after the polls close.

Former Town Clerk Linda Hartson is helping out with the count. Current acting Town Clerk Andrea Kohler and Selectman Julie Gilman and running for her job in this election.

PREVIOUS STORY 12 p.m.

About 700 voters as of noon today had cast a ballot in the town election.

The total represented a steady turnout so far. About 1,000 voters cast a ballot during the same timeframe at January's presidential Primary vote. And about 500 voters cast a ballot in that time during a townwide vote last year on fixing two small bridges that support Swasey Parkway.

The polls are open today until 8 p.m. at the Talbot Gym (30 Linden St.) near the Seacoast School of Technology.

Check back to Exeter Patch shortly after 8 p.m. for full results.

A spot on the Board of Selectmen and the Town Clerk job are up for grabs today.

Four pages of ballots, two of them double-sided. Wow. And I didn't get an "I Voted" sticker...
