Teen Driver Charged in Pedestrian Crash
The December crash seriously injured a 69-year-old Exeter woman.
A teenage driver has been charged with striking a 69-year-old Exeter woman on a Portsmouth Avenue sidewalk last month.
Timothy M. Allen, of 4 Culver St., Plaistow, was charged with vehicular assault and reckless driving for the Dec. 4 crash. Police said "driver inattention" contributed to the crash.
Soja Bennett, 69, of Exeter, was seriously injured and continues to recover from her injuries, police said.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. in front of the Gary Blake car dealership.
Allen was released on $1,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 4.
