Exeter's 'Little Library'
Bjarni Brown built a small library outside her home on Epping Road.
New Hampshire's first "Little Library" is located right here in Exeter.
Resident Bjarni Brown last year set up the mailbox-sized library containing about a dozen books at the front of her home at 14 Epping Road. Anyone can take a book or leave one.
People love it.
"A little girl left me a note inside that said, 'Thank you,'" said Brown. "It's kind of neat."
"It's a way to spread books and community spirit."
Brown got the idea after reading a USA Today story about similar little libraries popping up all around the country.
The trend is grassroots effort by book lovers everywhere to spread a sense of community in their neighborhoods. There's a website with a map of little libraries across the country and instructions for how people can build their own.
Note: Brown's efforts earned her the "Greatest Person Of The Day" award on the Huffington Post. See it here.

I love this idea - I had read an article about someone doing one about 2 months ago and I would love to do one at our home ... so happy to see this happening in Exeter.
