Walgreens Worker Accused of Drug Diversion
Pharmacy technician Brittany Bertone was charged with stealing hydrocodone.
A pharmacy technician charged with stealing hundreds of hydrocodone and Percocet pills from the Exeter Walgreens has surrendered her state-issued license.
Brittany E. Bertone, of Danville, stole at least 300 pills between June and December of 2012, police said. She was charged with felony-level drug possession and misdemeanor-level theft.
After her arrest was announced earlier this month, Bertone surrendered her pharmacy technician license, according to Jay Queenan, director of the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy. Bertone had faced the prospect of the board suspending her license. The board issues licenses to all pharmacy technicians in the state.
Bertone was released from custody after posting $2,500 bail. She was ordered to stay out of Walgreens.
Police said Bertone stole the pills but didn't replace them with others.
