Water Street Bookstore's Dan Chartrand Running For Office

See who else is running for office in Exeter.

Water Street Bookstore owner Dan Chartrand has filed paperwork to run for Selectman.

Chartrand and former Selectman Bob Eastman are the only candidates so far to announce a run at the seat being vacated by Bobby Aldrich, the current Selectmen chair who's for a new job.

For the open Town Clerk spot, current acting Town Clerk Andrea Kohler and Selectwomen Julie Gilman are running. They will try to replace longtime Town Clerk Linda Hartson, who this week she is resigning. Whoever wins will finish Hartson's last two years remaining on her term. If Gilman wins, she would have to resign her Selectwomen seat because town rules don't allow someone to work for the town and hold elected office at the same time.
