'Lone Survivor' Movie to Chronicle Mission Involving Exeter Soldier

Dan Healy was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star for his actions.

"Lone Survivor," a Mark Wahlberg movie set for release in December, will chronicle a 2005 rescue mission in Afghanistan involving Dan Healy, a Navy SEAL from Exeter.

Healy was aboard a helicopter on its way to assist fellow troops under fire when insurgents shot it down. Healy was one of eight SEALs killed in the crash. He was 36 years old.

Healy graduated from Exeter High School in 1986. A memorial was built for him at the Exeter Recreation Complex.

Healy is played by Dan Bilzerian in the movie. The title of the movie refers to Marcus Luttrell, the one SEAL who survived the attack.

Healy was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star.
