"Labor Day," a film based on the book by New Hampshire native Joyce Maynard, will be screened at next week's New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth.
The film stars Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. The story is set in New Hampshire and features a scene shot at Canobie Lake Park in Salem.
Maynard grew up in Durham and attended Phillips Exeter Academy.
"Labor Day" will be screened Fri., Oct. 18 at the Music Hall. Maynard will attend a question-and-answer session there following the screening.
