Huge Epping Movie Theater Opening This Week

It will open in time for the release of the new James Bond film.

A huge new movie theater in Epping will open Friday – the day the new James Bond film "Skyfall" comes out.

The new O'Neil Cinemas theater is located in the Brickyard Square development at the intersection of Routes 125 and 101.

  • Twelve screens
  • Five 3D screens
  • "D-Box" motion seats – demonstrated in the YouTube video at right
  • Stadium seats
  • Wall-to-wall curved screens
  • "High back" rocking seats with retractable armrests
  • Digital projection
  • Surround sound
  • Online ticketing
  • Reserved seating
  • Self-serve ticketing kiosks
  • Self-serve fountain drinks

The construction work on the new movie theater is being done by Portsmouth-based DeStefano & Associates, among other companies.

The company's plan for its Epping location was approved by the town's Planning Board earlier this year. It will satisfy residents who for years have called for a movie theater in town. There was even a "Bring a Movie Theater to Epping New Hampshire" Facebook page.

Brickyard Square also houses a Market Basket, a Marshalls and a PetSmart. The developers announced on their Facebook page last month that a new Kume Sushi Hibachi is scheduled to open.
