NESEA Green Buildings Open House Tour

The New England Sustainable Energy Association
(NESEA) is once again gearing up for the biggest green energy event in the Northeast, the Green Buildings Open House Tour.

The tour is always held the first Saturday of October, this year being October 5th. From 10am-4pm that day, hundreds of homes in the region will have their doors open for visitors to see and learn from the energy-efficient initiatives they have undertaken.

This tour is a tremendous learning opportunity for homeowners wondering how they also might be able to take control over their energy usage, save on money, and reduce their carbon footprint.

There are 4 homes listed in Rockingham County. For a full listing of homes visit the NESEA website at: http://www.energysage.com/projects/nesea-gboh-listing/

Simply type in your area code and the distance in miles you are willing to travel. All homes within that range will appear. Each home has a description of what you can expect to see, whether it’s solar hot water, solar electricity, a pellet boiler, an air source heat pump, a nearly net-zero home, or an electric vehicle charging station. This tour is free and open to the public; it is a self-guided tour, and no reservations are required.

Since the 1970’s NESEA has been working to promote and advocate for buildings that require little to no oil or any fossil fuels for that matter. They have been a leading organization promoting information for people interested in technological developments, market trends, and government policies related to energy consumption.
