This past Saturday was the unofficial kickoff to the election season, or so coined by many political observers. It sure felt like it with the amount of stops we made!

We began Saturday morning at the Freedom Summit, which featured conservatives from around the country, who descended on Manchester to discuss some of the prominent issues of the day. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with many friends and supporters from around the State and District. The excitement in the packed room was unmistakable!

From there, we made our way out to Bedford to the Town Transfer Station where Scott Brown and I shook hands with folks as they were running errands. In New Hampshire, retail politics still matter and it was great to listen to the issues on people’s minds. It was clear that while there is optimism that we can climb out of this stagnant economy, there is still great concern that we do not have the leaders in office to put the right policies in place to tackle our economic problems.

After we wrapped up in Bedford, we made our way back to Manchester where I spoke in front of volunteers itching to get out, knock on doors and identify supportive voters to turn out this fall! The NHGOP organized the event to try out new technology that will make us even more competitive this year.  We then traveled to Rochester to meet with another group of volunteers anxious to help out the cause of electing Republicans this year.

Later that evening, it was an honor to join the New Hampshire Young Republicans in Manchester for their presentation of the Gipper Award to Andrew Hemingway, candidate for Governor, and Jordan Osgood, member of the YR Executive Board and assistant to Senator Russell Prescott of Exeter. Thank you both for your commitment to our party and our cause!

On Monday, we released our 7th list of supporters from around the District. These individuals ensure that Team Guinta will have the infrastructure in place to beat Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter this fall. Beating an incumbent is not an easy task, but with your continued support we will take back this District in November!

Also on Monday morning I went on New Hampshire Today with host Jack Heath. During the interview we had the opportunity to discuss the election, the economy and the impact ObamaCare is having on New Hampshire.

Team Guinta’s Health Care Listening Tour Continued on Tuesday at the Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County in Portsmouth. This is a tremendous organization doing amazing work on behalf of the children in the Granite State. These centers work to reduce the trauma associated with child abuse by streamlining the process and putting all the services from doctors, to the authorities, to protective services all under one roof. These centers have led to a dramatic increase in successful prosecutions of these heinous crimes. It was an honor to visit with Brad Russ, former Portsmouth Police Chief and Board Member of the CAC and Maureen “Moe” Sullivan who is the Executive Director. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to this important issue!

We made our second trip of the week to the Seacoast with a stop in New Castle to speak to the local town Republican Committee. Some members from the Rye Committee were able to join us too. During the question and answer portion of the event, we talked about legislation I had sponsored and ultimately had signed into law by President Obama, as well as the Cut, Cap and Balance legislation passed in the House to right our fiscal ship and the 2014 landscape.
