John Richards, USAF Captain and History Teacher, Dies at 81
A memorial service will be held Dec. 7.
John Richards, an Exeter resident who served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, died Oct. 5 at the age of 81.
Richards was born in Groton, Mass. He taught history at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.
"A legendary teacher of Russian and European history, track coach and house counselor, Jack also served as dean of students and faculty," his obituary reads. "His consummate grace, skill and humor inspired family, friends, students and colleagues to think and act with compassion."
A memorial service will be held Dec. 7.
