Community Corner

Good People Exist!

My Girl Scout Troop was selling cookies at a local Walmart last weekend - in the cold rain. Not super sales, but ok. About 15 minutes before we were to close up, a gentleman walked up and asked to buy all the cookies on our table. We had 58 boxes on the table. He purchased those, with cash, and added more for the ones still in cases to donate to our chosen local charity org (senior center). It ended up being a SIGNIFICANT amount!!! He would not give us his name, but did give an address so my Girls can send a thank you card.

This man did not ask for recognition, he was clear that he just wanted to "give back to his community". I would like to share the story with others.

Troop 12557 of Exeter thanks you sir, from the bottom of our hearts! We will certainly honor your act of generosity with our own in the future. It is my main focus as a Scout Leader (both Girl Scout and Cub Scout) to support each other in our community.
