County Attorney Will Fight Suspension
The Rockingham County Attorney's lawyer will file a petition in Merrimack County Superior Court on Thursday.
Rockingham County Attorney James Reams is going to court to fight his suspension.
According to the Union Leader, attorney Michael Ramsdell will file a petition in Merrimack County Superior Court on Thursday objecting to Reams' suspension last week. A hearing on the pleading is expected to be held sometime Thursday.
Attorney General Joseph Foster and U.S. Attorney John Kacavas announced last week that Reams and Deputy County Attorney Tom Reid had been suspended pending a probe into the management and operations of the county attorney's office. No further details have been released.
WMUR also reported this week that nearly $70,000 in uncashed checks were found in the Rockingham County Attorney's office after Reams was suspended. Those checks are not connected to the ongoing investigation, however.
