Warf and Desjardins had a son together, and he said they recently worked out a custody arrangement, according to the Associated Press.

Desjardins remarried and had a child with his new wife. Warf recently had a boyfriend.

For the last few days investigators searched Desjardins' home. He told media outlets he had nothing to do with Warf's murder. A neighbor said there was "nothing unusual" about Desjardins and his family. The neighbor said she hadn't seen the family since Thursday morning.

Police on Tuesday arrested Desjardins at gunpoint outside his home at 67 Railroad Ave. in Epping, according to WMUR-TV.

A neighbor said Warf's death was "heart-wrenching."

Warf will be laid to rest Wednesday.

The state Attorney General's office released this statement Tuesday afternoon:

Colonel Robert C. Quinn, and Exeter Police Chief Richard Kane announce that an arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Amanda "Amy" Warf. Aaron Desjardins (36) of 67 Railroad Avenue, Epping, NH, was arrested this afternoon and charged with one count of First Degree Murder for causing the death of Amy Warf.

Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Thomas A. Andrew, performed the autopsy of Ms. Warf's body and determined the cause of her death was incised wounds on her neck.

Along with the agencies listed above, the Exeter Fire Department, the State Fire Marshall's Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) have provided substantial assistance in this investigation.

An arraignment is expected to be scheduled for tomorrow morning in Exeter District Court in Brentwood, NH.
