Exeter Police Add Smartphone Crimefighting Tool

It was made possible through a grant from Seacoast Crime Stoppers.

The following is from Exeter police:

Through a recent grant from the SeacoastCrimestoppers.org, the Exeter
Police have added specialized software to their investigations unit.

The software created by Access Data is a top of the line, industry-standard
mobile device forensics software kit called MPE+. Sgt. Michael Munck
recently attended a vigorous training course on the software and is now
certified to perform the forensic extractions. Sgt. Munck is excited to
have this added qualification and is passionate in this area of evidence
recovery. This builds upon his prior forensic computer training that he
received through being an active member of the NH-Internet Crimes
Against Children.

With this software and through Sgt. Munck’s expertise, the Exeter Police as well as the other Police Departments participating with the Seacoast Crimestoppers will have the ability to recover evidence in the forms of text messages, photos, e-mails, call history, and other functions. This new tool will prove to be integral to a really wide range of investigations from traffic violations and accidents to more serious felonies such as drug trafficking and child pornography.

The attached photo is of Sgt. Munck receiving the MPE+ from Seacoast
Crimestoppers President Marcia Schallehn along with some of the other
Board members.
