More Exeter High Teachers Involved in Student Sex Assault Probe

Police are investigating the possibility multiple students were assaulted.

More Exeter High School teachers are being investigated by police in relation to a possible sex assault against a student.

Last month, a teacher involved in the probe was placed on leave. Police this week said they are investigating two other teachers who have also been placed on leave.

Police Capt. Bill Shupe said the assault happened in 2009. He said there's a possibility other students were assaulted.

"Our investigation is ongoing," Shupe said.

Superintendent Michael Morgan said two of the teachers being investigated have resigned. The third remains out on paid leave, Morgan said.

"Because this remains a confidential personnel matter, I am not able to release any additional information, i.e. no names, no reasons," Morgan said in a statement.

Shupe said police are looking to speak with students who may have been assaulted or witnessed other students being assaulted. He urged those students to tell their parents and call police.

Police launched their investigation when a tip was provided to School Resource Officer Daniel D'Amato, Shupe said.
