Hunt on for Exeter Bank Robber

Police said a man robbed the People's United Bank on Main Street Monday afternoon.

Exeter police are looking for a man they say robbed the People's United Bank on Main Street Monday afternoon.

Police released photos of the suspect (shown above) taken by bank cameras during the robbery, which happened at about 3:30 p.m.

The suspect was described as a white male between 40 and 50 years old, standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has a moustache, a salt-and-pepper beard, and a star tattoo on the left side of his neck, police said.

He wore a tan hat, blue jeans, dark-blue hooded sweatshirt and pink latex gloves at the time of the robbery, police said. 

The suspect passed a note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

He was last seen walking toward Lincoln Street.
