Woman Found Murdered in Exeter Was a Mother

Amanda "Amy" Warf was found dead in an abandoned factory Thursday.

The woman who authorities said was murdered and left in an abandoned factory in Exeter was a mother.

The body of Amanda "Amy" Warf was found Thursday morning at the old City Concrete Co. building on Hampton Road Thursday. Firefighters discovered her after putting out a fire that broke out at the crumbling facility.

Warf was 36 years old and lived in Hampton, authorities said. She was also the mother of a young son and had a boyfriend, according to her Facebook page.

At the time of her death, Warf did billing work for Exeter Hospital at a building at 7 Holland Way, which is less than a mile from the concrete plant, according to the Union Leader.

In a statement Saturday, hospital officials said they were shocked over her death.

"Amanda was a dedicated and energetic professional who proudly served as an employee of Exeter Hospital for many years. Amanda will be greatly missed by all those who knew and worked with her," hospital officials said. "Our heartfelt condolences continue to be with her family during this difficult time."

Authorities have not said how Warf died and if there are any suspects in her murder.

Investigators at the scene of the crime Thursday took a man away in the back of a police cruiser after frisking him. He did not appear to be under arrest. He looked to be in his mid-30s. Authorities have not said if there are any suspects in Warf's death.

Investigators also searched a gray Hyundai sedan found in the parking lot of the concrete plant and a black Honda sedan parked across the street.
