Jon Huntsman, the only Republican candidate who has banked his entire campaign on New Hampshire, made one final appeal to voters during a huge event in Exeter tonight a day before the New Hampshire Primary.
He was fired up.
"We're gonna tell Congress, 'We're gonna dock your pay until you balance the damn budget!" he declared to a boisterous crowd of about 500 supporters inside .
Huntsman said the race for the Republican nomination comes down to trust, arguing he's the must trustworthy candidate.
Huntsman said he's held nearly 180 events in New Hampshire since his campaign . He was the only candidate in the remaining field to not compete in Iowa.
"We're going to surprise the world!" he exclaimed at the end of his speech, as a confetti gun went off.
His campaign staff pulled out all the stops tonight, illuminating Exeter Town Hall in a wash of red and blue – complete with a "HUNTSMAN" outline. "Country First" banners dotted the walls inside the building.
There were about 150 press here tonight – fewer than what , but larger than what .
The latest polls have Huntsman somewhat surging in New Hampshire. He's still behind the front-runner Romney and second-place holder Paul.
