Slow Start to Exeter Election Season

Only four candidates have filed for about a dozen open seats.

The Exeter election season is off to a slow start.

As of Friday, only four municipal candidates had filed for about a dozen open seats on various board and committees.

Matt Quandt, an incumbent, and Nancy Belanger have filed for two open seats on the Selectboard. Incumbent Selectman Frank Ferraro has not yet filed for re-election.

Town Clerk Andrea Kohler filed for re-election. Robin Lent is running for Library Trustee.

The filing period opened Wed., Jan. 22. It closes Jan. 31.

Below is a list of open offices:

  • 2 Selectmen for a 3-year term
  • 1 Exeter School Board for 3-year term
  • 1 Exeter Region Cooperative School Board for 3-year term
  • 1 Town Clerk for a 3-year term
  • 1 Supervisor of the Checklist for a 6-year term
  • 3 Trustees of the Library for a 3-year term
  • 1 Trustee of the Library for a 1 year term
  • 1 Trustee of Trust Funds for a 3-year term
  • 1 Trustee of the Robinson Fund for a 7-year term
  • 1 Trustee of Swasey Parkway for a 3-year term
