Potential Threat Written on iPad at Exeter High School

While there appears to be 'no credible threat,' an increased police presence will be at Exeter High School on June 4.

Exeter police continue to investigate a threat written on an iPad, "I commit a school shooting," that was reported Tuesday morning.

Superintendent Michael Morgan, in a message on the district's website, says the does not appear the threat is credible, but that an increased police presidence will be at the school on June 4.

Morgan says the threat was on one of the units from the school's mobile iPad lab, ones that many students use at various times.

The threat was on the calendar for June 4. It was immediately reported to the classroom teacher who alerted school administrators who in turn notified the EHS School Resource Officer.

More from Morgan's message:

"The Technology Administrator at the school attempted to identify the source of this iPad entry but because there is no log-in system to an iPad, this was not able to be done. Conceivably, the message could have been posted last week, last month, or even last year. There appears to be no way to determine when the actual entry was even made to the iPad."
