Scotty Lago narrowly missed out on his chance Sunday at an Olympic berth on the United States halfpipe team, placing 13th in the fifth and final Sochi qualifier, according to NBCOlympics.com.
Lago, 26, a Seabrook native who won bronze in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympic Games, was one of four snowboarders who had a chance Sunday at a top-three finish after placing second Friday in the fourth qualifier.
Shaun White, Taylor Gold, Greg Bretz and Danny Davis were selected as the four members of the 2014 U.S. team, according to NBCOlympics.com.
