Carol Shea-Porter Should Follow Her Own Advice and Resign

Are you kidding me?! While we agree that people should definitely be fired/resign because of Obamacare, Shea-Porter is the last person to be suggesting that. She has not only been one of the law’s biggest supporters, but back in September and October she voted numerous times against delaying implementation and other fixes that could have at least minimized the damage wrought by Obamacare. Here is a quick look at some of Shea-Porter’s recent Obamacare votes:

  • Voted for Obamacare (Roll Call #165, 3/21/10) (Roll Call #167, 3/21/10)
  • Voted against repealing ObamaCare (Roll Call #154, 5/16/2013)
  • Voted against delaying Obamacare’s employer mandate for one year. (Roll Call #361, 7/17/2013)
  • Voted against delaying Obamacare’s individual mandate for one year. (Roll Call #363, 7/17/2013)
  • Voted to keep the scandal-plagued IRS in charge of enforcing Obamacare, which could lead to further IRS targeting, abuse and harassment; voted to keep Obamacare unchanged. (Roll Call #447, 8/2/13)
  • Voted to allow taxpayer funded subsidies for purchasing insurance under ObamaCare without verifying that individuals are eligible to receive those subsidies, which could lead to rampant fraud and abuse of taxpayer funds by individuals who receive undeserved government subsidies.  Voted against protecting taxpayers and preventing fraudulent Obamacare subsidy claims. (Roll Call #458, 9/12/13)

It’s laughable and hypocritical that Carol Shea-Porter called for people to resign because of the Obamacare train wreck. Shea-Porter has been one of the law’s biggest supporters, even voting against bipartisan bills to delay implementation and mitigate against some of the more disastrous effects of the law. If Shea-Porter is looking for someone to resign because of Obamacare, she should take a look in the mirror and call it quits herself.
