Officials have taken measures to stop it.
Officials have closed the bathrooms at the Exeter Recreation Complex after they were vandalized. Town Manager Russ Dean said the bathrooms with damaged with a bunch of pine cones. The bathrooms will be reopened next month when the town pool opens, Dean said. The damage to the bathrooms is the latest in a series of vandalism incidents at the complex on Hampton Road. Last year, someone broke part of a stone monument for Daniel Healy, a Navy SEAL from Exeter who was killed in Afghanistan. The community raised money to fix the damage.

Exeter resident Christopher Collier ran the Boston Marathon and was in the vicinity of a deadly bombing.
Christopher Collier, one of 13 Exeter residents who ran Monday's Boston Marathon, said he couldn't believe the loud pop he heard after he finished the race was a deadly bombing. "I thought it was a cannon or something for Patriots' Day," said Collier. "You don't think that a bomb went off." So far authorities have confirmed three people died and more than 150 were injured in two explosions near the finish line. No one has been arrested as of Monday afternoon. Collier finished the race in a time of 3 hours, 31 minutes—about a half-hour before the explosions. He said he was about 150 yards away from blasts. Collier said it was his second time running the marathon as part of a charity effort for Mass Mentors. Collier said he will not let the …

Julie Benson said she was less than a half-mile from a deadly bombing.
An Exeter woman who ran the Boston Marathon on Monday said she's "grateful to be alive" after the deadly bombing. Julie Benson said she was less than a half-mile from the finish line when she heard a huge explosion. That explosion, which police said happened near the finish line, killed at least two people and injured dozens. "It was so awful and scary," said Benson, who ran the race to raise money for victims of the Newtown, Conn. shootings in December. Benson, a mother of two who works as a local guidance counselor, said she met a stranger who let her use his phone to call her husband and let him know she was safe. She made it out of the area in a bus and met up with her husband in Chelmsford before heading back home to Exeter. "I'm very…
