Roland Dow, Jessica Linscott Had Child Lie to Authorities, Prosecutors Say [VIDEO]

A local mother and her boyfriend remain in jail on charges the boyfriend beat up a 3-year-old child while the mother helped him evade authorities. Plaistow residents Roland Dow, 27, and Jessica Linscott, 23, were ordered held on $500,000 bail Thursday. Prosecutors said Dow beat Linscott's son, James, so badly that the boy was temporarily blinded. Exeter Hospital doctors discovered the boy's injuries and alerted authorities in November, according to authorities. A New Hampshire mother and her boyfriend accused of inflicting horrific injuries on the woman's 3-year-old son are due in court Thursday to face additional charges. Roland Dow, 27, and Jessica Linscott, 23, were recently indicted on witness tampering charges. Both Linscott and Dow are scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges Thursday at 9 a.m. at Rockingham County Superior Court in Brentwood. Dow was already facing assault charges and Linscott child endangerment charges. A New Hampshire mother and her boyfriend accused of inflicting horrific injuries on the woman's 3-year-old son have been indicted on additional charges of witness tampering. Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams announced Monday afternoon that Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow were each indicted on two felony counts of witness tampering and one misdemeanor count of violating the New Hampshire wiretap statute. Both Linscott and Dow are scheduled for arraignment on the new charges on March 21 at 9 a.m. According to the Union Leader, the charges are for secretly recording an interview with a state Department of Children, Youth and Families worker and coaching Linscott's son to say that he was not being abused.
