Accidental Lockdown at Exeter School

It happened Monday morning.

A lockdown alarm went off accidentally Monday morning at the Tuck Learning Campus as students were arriving for the first day of school, according to Seacoastonline.com. Seacoast School of Technology Prinicpal Margaret Callahan told the news site that there was a malfunction and workers examining it for repair. Callahan said the school day started a bit late because of the false alarm.

Exeter Farmers Market Helps SST Students

Students used local food for a project.

The following is from the Seacoast Growers Association, which runs the Exeter Farmers Market every Thursday from 2:15 to 6 p.m. at Swasey Parkway. Kelsey MacDonald and George Tilton are part of a team of students cooking a sold-out, five-course meal tonight as their final Senior project. We spotted them loading up with produce, herbs, syrup and other supplies at the Exeter Farmers' Market, along with their teacher and chef Jim Collins. All are from the Culinary Arts Program at Exeter's Seacoast School of Technology. They planned to purchase from the farmers' market before going to their budgeted sources, to add as many locally produced ingredients to the meal as possible. Exeter's SST Summer Camp Registration Open

Middle school students can learn about engine overhauling, among other activities.

Registration for the Seacoast School of Technology's popular summer camps recently opened. "This sells out very fast," said Principal Margaret Callahan, who announced the opening of the registration period at a school board this week. The one-week camps are for local middle school students in grades 5-8. It will be held June 25-July 9. The cost is $125 per camp. Exeter Hospital Intern Program a Success

A student reflects on a unique experience.

The following is from Exeter Hospital: When Joseph St. Peter headed off for his freshman year of college this fall to begin working toward his career goal of becoming a physician’s assistant, he already had a good idea of what to expect. St. Peter, 18, of Exeter, spent two months this spring completing an internship at Core General Surgery thanks to a partnership between Exeter Hospital and the Seacoast School of Technology. As a student in the Health Science Technologies program at SST, St. Peter received credit for the internship which required him to spend three days a week, at least two hours per day, at the Core General Surgery practice on Hampton Road in Exeter.  Billi Petroski, a medical assistant at the practice, served as St. …

Hi Kathy, Yes that's correct. At the session tonight, voters will decide on how much money should be slated for the repairs before the July 12 vote. They can either keep the $575,000 or reduce the amount.   more ›
