U.S. Attorney to Speak on Exeter Hepatitis C Criminal Case

U.S. Attorney John Kacavas will hold a news conference Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. following a plea hearing for David Kwiatkowski, the former Exeter Hospital worker charged with infecting 32 patients with his hepatitis C.

Kwiatkowski has agreed to plead guilty and will face a prison sentence of 30 to 40 years.

Kacavas previously said Kwiatkowski spread his potentially deadly liver disease to unsuspecting patients by injecting himself with their medication and then replacing needles with saline to make them appear untouched.
