New Restaurant Opens in Exeter

Nadeau's sub shop opened Monday.

There's a new face on the Exeter restaurant scene.

Nadeau's, a sub shop, opened Monday on Portsmouth Avenue next to Walgreen's.

"We're a cut above the average sub shop," said owner Jeremy Nadeau.

Nadeau's serves Philly cheese steaks, Black Angus hambugers, and salads, among other items. There are also gluten-free wraps and party platters.

The shop's interior features a mural of downtown Exeter by Massachusetts-based artist Rob Surette.

The Exeter location is Nadeau's sixth in New Hampshire. It replaces Gandolfo's NY Delicatessen, which closed in March after the owners said "the economy (got) the best of us."

The Exeter Nadeau's is located at 48 Portsmouth Ave.
