Alleged Exeter Murder Accomplice Faces Life Sentence

Prosecutors said Michele Corson helped her brother kill his ex-wife.

A Maine woman who allegedly helped her brother kill his ex-wife is facing a possible life sentence if convicted on an accomplice to murder charge.

Michele Corson, 43, of Skowhegan, Maine, was arraigned in Exeter District Court this morning.

Prosecutors said Corson conspired with her brother, Aaron Desjardins, of Epping, to kill Desjardins' ex-wife, Amy Warf. Corson allegedly sent her brother a .32-caliber German pistol made by Mauser.

Warf, of Hampton, was killed by Desjardins when he slit her throat after leading her into an abandoned factory in Exeter, according to prosecutors. They have declined to say what the alleged murder weapon was. Further details about the case remain sealed.

Corson said little in court this morning. She told a judge she needs a court-appointed lawyer. She was ordered held on no bail pending a probable cause hearing May 13 at 10 a.m.

Corson's accomplice to murder charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. She was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder, which carries 15-30 years in prison.

Desjardins' current wife, Sarah, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder and hindering apprehension. Prosecutors said she sent a text message to Corson asking her to bring a "roasting pan" for Desjardins. They said "roasting pan" was code for a gun. Sarah Desjardins faces up to 37 years in prison if convicted on her charges.

Warf's body was found in an abandoned Exeter factory March 7. She was a mother and worked at Exeter Hospital.
