School Officials Hear Concerns Over Gun Incident

The student at a middle school in Stratham brought the gun into school to show a classmate April 29.

Administrators at SAU 16 and the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham are hearing some concerns about how they handled the case of a middle school student who brought a loaded gun into school to show a classmate, according to WMUR.

Superintendent Mike Morgan has said the district would review the incident as a matter of protocol. There is the question of how alert notification occurred, for students and parents.

Some parents continue to question how the student, who has been suspended, got access to a loaded firearm and was able to bring it into school earlier in the week.

Morgan, after the incident was addressed and officials confirmed no threat was made April 29, issued a statement that said, in part:  "I am grateful to the school administrators and to the Stratham Police Department for their collaboration as well as for the speedy and professional way that this matter was handled to protect the safety and security of our students and staff."
